Gerald L. Fackert

Officer Fackert joined the Kansas City Police Department on August 5th, 1919 and served for three years.
On December 15th, 1921, the motorcycle of Officer Fackert and Officer Russel Fisk collided with a bakery truck at Robert Gilham Road and Troost Avenue. Officer Fackert was driving at the time of the accident and Officer Fisk was riding in the sidecar. Officer Fackert went into shock and sustained a crushed right leg. He later died at General Hospital.
Officer Fackert had previously sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle accident after serving for three months. He was survived by his father, Oscar, and mother, Elizabeth.
